Commercial organizing experience

Behind the scenes
of brands you know.

We’ve organized retail storage basements, major corporate event management offices, marketing offices and schools. We’ve also helped offices prepare to move and downsize.

Our work includes spaces used by well-known everyday brands. We bring that same thoughtful, hands-on approach to the workplace you need help with.

For the people working around it

The storage problem
is becoming everyone’s problem.

Your team already has work to do. Sorting accumulated stock and rethinking where it all goes is a project in itself.

A full storage sort-out may not be part of anyone’s day-to-day role. Yet searching for supplies, shifting boxes and asking where things live can keep interrupting the work they were hired to do.

We give that organizing project the hands-on attention it needs, with a practical approach to what your business needs to keep.

Give your team room to do
what you hired them to do.

  1. Looking in three places for one thing.

Supplies are scattered across cupboards, shelves and boxes. Finding them means stopping what you were doing.

  2. Ordering more. Then finding the unopened box.

It’s difficult to see what you already have, so another order goes in.

  3. Storage starts taking space from people.

If extra stock is creeping into the lunch area or the place people keep their coats, the storage problem is becoming part of the working day.

  4. Needing one particular person to find anything.

The system makes sense to the person who put it away. Everyone else has to ask.

Designed for the people using it

A shared space needs
a shared logic.

A beautifully arranged shelf is only useful if people understand where things belong.

We focus on categories your team recognizes, labels that help people find their way and placement that reflects the tasks happening around it.

Ongoing upkeep still matters. We focus on an arrangement that is straightforward for the people returning supplies and bringing new items in.

The aim is a space that makes sense on a busy working day.

A business owner’s understanding

I understand the business
behind the boxes.

I’m Nicola, founder of Space in the City. I’ve owned several businesses, including a retail business, an events company and an online store.

For my retail business, I rented an entire house next door and stored inventory in every room. I understand that the things taking up space may also be the things your business depends on.

That experience shapes our approach at Space in the City. We consider what you need to keep, how your team uses it and how the space needs to work day to day.

You can expect practical help, discretion and a judgment-free approach.

Your business decides what stays.

We help make the contents clearer. Your team makes the decisions about what needs to be kept.

Your privacy matters.

Tell us about sensitive areas, materials or access requirements so we can discuss the boundaries of the project before work begins.

Before we begin

A few practical
questions.

Do we need to tidy or declutter first?

No need to organize the space before you enquire. Seeing how it is normally used helps us understand what is getting in the way. We can discuss what needs sorting and who can make decisions about the contents.

Can you help us prepare for an office move or downsizing?

Yes. Our experience includes organizing offices preparing to move or downsize. We help sort and organize the physical contents so your team can see what is there and decide what needs to be kept. Tell us where you are in the process and your timing requirements so we can discuss the organizing work involved.

How involved does our team need to be?

It helps to have a nominated person who knows the contents, can explain how the space is used and has authority to make decisions. We handle the hands-on organizing. We’ll discuss when your input is needed before the work begins.

Will we need to buy new storage products?

There is no need to shop first. We look at what needs to be stored and the storage you already have. Any additional requirements and costs can then be discussed as part of the plan.

How much will it cost, and how long will it take?

That depends on the spaces involved, the volume of their contents and the decisions and work required. We discuss the proposed scope, timing and estimate before booking. Larger projects may need more than one session.

Can you work around our business hours?

Include your timing needs, access arrangements and any areas that must remain in use in your enquiry. We’ll discuss what is practical before agreeing to the project.

Do you organize merchandise and promotional stock?

Yes. Our experience includes organizing merchandise for a high-profile client. We focus on the physical items: useful categories, sensible storage and an arrangement that reflects how they are used. Tell us what you hold and who needs to access it so we can discuss the scope.

What does business organization include?

This service focuses on hands-on organizing of physical workspaces, supplies, stock and stored materials. Digital files, software setup and business coaching are outside this service.

Where in Toronto do you work?

Include your business address or neighbourhood in your enquiry so we can confirm whether we serve your location.
