The everyday effort

Your home can look perfectly presentable and still be hard work.

It’s the little things you’ve become very good at working around.

If you’re happy with what you own, we can focus on where it belongs.

  1. You know you own it.

Finding it means checking the drawer, the cupboard and the other place it sometimes ends up.

  2. The groceries are home.

Putting them away means taking half the cupboard out first.

  3. You’ve just finished tidying.

But things have been put wherever they fit. A few days later, you’re doing it all again.

A home that supports your day

Find it. Use it. Put it away.

We look at what you reach for, where you use it and what makes putting it back awkward. Then we organize around those details.

Less searching

Useful categories and sensible locations, so you know where to look for the things you need.

Easier everyday routines

The things you use often within easy reach. Storage arranged to reduce the lifting, shuffling and rummaging.

A simpler reset

Clear places to return things to, with an arrangement that makes sense to the people using it.

You finish the small task and move on. There’s more of your evening left for whatever you actually wanted to do with it.

What we can organize

Start with the space that keeps slowing you down.

From one hardworking area to several rooms, we’ll agree a scope that reflects your priorities and how you use your home.

How it works

Tell us what isn’t working. Let’s agree a plan.

Tell us about your home

Start with the enquiry form. Share the spaces you’d like organized, your Toronto neighbourhood and what you’d like to feel easier. You don’t need to arrive with a plan.

Agree the plan and arrangements

We talk through your priorities, understand the space and discuss the proposed work, estimate and timing. Before organizing day, we agree the brief, access arrangements and where your input will be needed.

Leave the hands-on work to us

We group, arrange and organize your belongings around the agreed plan. You make the decisions that need your input; we handle the practical work. We explain where things belong and how the arrangement works.

Thoughtful help you can hand over

Leave us the organizing.
Get on with your day.

Come home to a space that makes more sense for you.

Where the project allows, you can leave us your key, head out and return to thoughtfully organized spaces. We’ll first agree what we’re working on, how we’ll access your home and which decisions need you.

You don’t have to stand beside us while we arrange every drawer. We do need to understand your preferences and have your input where it matters. We’ll discuss how to handle questions that come up while you’re out.

Your belongings remain yours to decide about. Nothing is discarded or donated without your permission.

The care behind the work

Inviting us in should feel comfortable.

Space in the City was founded by Nicola Masterson. More than a decade of organizing experience informs our approach: thoughtful help, practical systems and respect for the person living with them.

Your home stays private

Confidential, judgement-free support, with care for your home, belongings and circumstances.

Your routines guide the work

We organize around how you live, what you use and where you need it.

Your preferences matter

We agree your priorities before we begin, then organize within that brief. Anything you might let go of remains your decision.

Before we begin

A few practical questions.

Do I need to declutter first?

No. We can focus on organizing what you already own. A light declutter can be part of the agreed brief if you want it, but a big purge isn’t a requirement. If the amount you want to keep exceeds the available storage, we’ll talk honestly about the options with you.

Do I need to be home?

Not for every project or every part of the work. Where appropriate, we can organize while you’re out, once the brief and access arrangements are agreed. We’ll discuss what input your project needs and how to handle questions before you leave us to it.

Should I buy baskets or storage products first?

No need to shop first. We look at your belongings and the storage you already have before suggesting anything new. Products should serve a useful purpose. We’ll discuss any proposed purchases and their costs as part of the plan.

Should I tidy before you arrive?

No. Seeing where things normally end up helps us understand what’s getting in your way. There’s no need to put on a tidier version of home for us.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on the agreed scope, the spaces involved, the amount to organize and the team and time required. We’ll discuss an estimate for your project, including how any proposed products or additional services would be charged.

How long will it take?

That depends on the size and complexity of the spaces, the belongings involved and any decisions needed along the way. We’ll discuss a realistic scope and timing with you. Larger projects may need more than one session.

Is organizing the right service for me?

If you mainly want the things you’re keeping arranged so they work better for you, yes. Decluttering offers more support with deciding what to keep and let go. Unpacking helps you get settled and organized after a move. If you’re unsure, describe what you need in your enquiry and we’ll help you choose a starting point.

Let’s make home easier

You don’t have to keep working around it.

The cupboard you reshuffle. The drawer you search. The room that takes too much effort to reset. Tell us what you’d like to work better, and we’ll talk through how we can help.

Leave us the organizing. Come home to a space that works for you.
