You Don't Need Another Bin.

You Need One Friendly Day With People Who Get It.

A small, experienced team comes to your Toronto home for one focused decluttering day.

We help you make the decisions, organize what stays, and remove the donations and unwanted items you are finally ready to release.

No judgement. No pressure. No colour-coded system that becomes another job for you to maintain.

Discreet, hands-on decluttering support for homes across Toronto and the GTA.

Maybe This Is the Moment You Keep Having

It is late. Everyone else has gone to bed.

You are standing in the front hall, looking at the bags you have been stepping around for weeks.

The closet door stopped opening properly months ago.

The guest room has become the place where postponed decisions go to wait.

There are boxes from the move, clothes you no longer wear, things you meant to donate, and piles you have already moved from one room to another more than once.

And the thought arrives, sharp and familiar:

“I should be able to handle this myself.”

You are smart. Capable. Successful.

You run a company, a household, a family calendar, a renovation, a move, aging-parent care, or some combination of all of them.

You are the person other people rely on.

But your home has quietly become the backlog of every decision you have not had the time, energy, or emotional capacity to make.

That is not a personal failure.

That is what happens when life keeps asking more of you than one person can reasonably carry.

Space in the City was built for exactly this moment.

Clutter Is Rarely Just Stuff

It is the dress that cost too much.

The papers you might need.

The toys that remind you they were once little.

The box from someone who is no longer here.

The gifts you feel guilty letting go of.

The serving set you bought for a version of your life that never quite happened.

Every object asks a question.

Do I need this?

Will I regret letting it go?

What if it becomes useful?

What does it say about me if I no longer want it?

By the tenth question, you are tired.

By the hundredth, everything goes back into the closet and the door closes again.

That is not laziness.

It is decision fatigue, emotion, and a life that does not stop long enough for you to catch up.

And no, another basket from HomeSense is not going to fix it.

A beautiful bin filled with things you do not need is still clutter.

What helps is having calm, experienced people beside you who know when to ask a question, when to give you space, and when to keep the day moving.

Why the Way We Help Matters So Much to Me

When my mother was dying of cancer, I would sit beside her bed and organize her drawers.

Not because she had asked me to.

It was simply one small thing I could make calmer when so much around us was outside our control.

One afternoon, I opened her sock drawer so she could see what I had done.

She looked at the neatly folded bundles for a long moment and whispered:

“Oh… beautiful flowers.”

They must have looked like little petals opening inside the drawer.

Organizing that drawer did not change what was happening. But it gave her a small moment of peace inside something neither of us could control.

I have never forgotten it.

That experience changed the way I think about organizing.

It is not really about bins, labels, perfect pantries, or systems you abandon by February.

It is about creating enough calm for someone to breathe again.

It is about giving you back the mental space to be present for the people who matter most, including yourself.

That is the feeling I built Space in the City to bring into other people’s homes.

Warmth. Calm. Momentum. Never judgement.

Meet Your Space in the City Decluttering Day

One focused day.

Two or three trained organizers.

One space that has been taking up far too much room in your home and your head.

We arrive ready to work beside you, make meaningful progress, and help you move through decisions that have felt impossible on your own.

You do not have to become a naturally organized person.

You do not need to prepare the house for us.

You do not need to buy anything first.

You simply need to show us what has been weighing on you.

Before We Arrive

  • You will complete a short contact form and speak with us during a complimentary 20-minute connection call.

  • We will ask what is bothering you most, what has already been tried, and what you would love to feel different by the end of the day.

  • You may send us a few photographs so we can recommend the right team size, prepare properly, and set a realistic scope.

  • No surprises. No vague promises. No arriving without understanding what you need.

When We Arrive

  • We begin with a short walkthrough and agree on the most important finish line for the day.

  • Then we get to work.

  • We help you sort, make decisions, organize what stays, and prepare what is leaving.

  • Some clients want to be involved in every decision.

  • Others prefer to stay nearby, answer the important questions, and let us handle the physical work.

  • Both approaches work beautifully.

  • We adjust to your energy, your decision-making style, and the amount of support you want around you.

Before We Leave

  • Donation items are boxed or bagged and moved out of the working space.

  • Items that fit safely in our vehicles can be taken for donation. When larger removals are needed, we can help coordinate the appropriate next step.

  • What stays is returned thoughtfully, using what you already own wherever possible.

  • You will know what was completed, what remains, and the smartest next step.

  • No mystery piles.

  • No room full of containers labelled “deal with later.”

  • No binder of instructions that quietly becomes more homework.

  • We declutter first. We organize second. We recommend products last.

  • Because your home does not need more stuff pretending to solve the stuff.

What Can Feel Different by the End of the Day

The closet door opens properly.

The guest room can welcome a guest again.

The floor is visible.

The donation bags are no longer waiting in the hallway.

The boxes from the move have finally been opened.

The clothes you actually wear are easier to find.

The room that made your stomach tighten every time you passed it feels usable again.

Most importantly, the stalemate has been broken.

A single day may not complete an entire home, and we will never sell you a whole-house miracle we cannot responsibly deliver.

But one well-planned day can create visible, meaningful relief.

It can give you momentum.

It can help you trust yourself again.

It can make your home feel like it belongs to the life you are living now, not every version of your life that came before it.

The promise is not perfection.

The promise is progress you can feel.

You Do Not Need to Be Less Embarrassed Before You Call

You do not need to clean for us.

You do not need to pre-sort.

You do not need to apologize for the unopened boxes, expired pantry items, unworn clothes, unfinished projects, or bags that have been waiting to leave for six months.

You also do not need to tell us that it “isn’t usually this bad.”

We believe you.

Life happened.

The house absorbed it.

This is the work we are here to help with.

Your circumstances, belongings, and home are treated with care and discretion.

You are a person inviting us into a private part of your life, and we do not take that trust lightly.

This Service Is Designed for You If…

You are capable in nearly every area of your life, but your home has become the place where everything unfinished lands.

You have been through a move, renovation, divorce, loss, health change, demanding work season, family transition, or years of simply having too much to manage.

You want practical, hands-on help rather than another list of things you should do yourself.

You value discretion, warmth, efficiency, and an experienced team that can keep things moving without making you feel rushed.

You are willing to make decisions, but you do not want to make all of them alone.

This is not a cleaning service, a home-staging makeover, or someone arriving to tell you what you are allowed to keep.

We will guide you.

We will challenge you gently when something is keeping you stuck.

But you remain in control of your belongings and your home.

You May Have Tried THIS Before

You bought the bins.

You watched the organizing videos.

You read the book.

You pulled everything out, became overwhelmed, and put most of it back.

Perhaps you hired someone before and felt judged.

Perhaps they made the room look better, but the system did not fit the way you actually live.

Perhaps you have been waiting for a free weekend, a quieter month, or the mythical season when no one needs anything from you.

You do not need another burst of motivation.

You need support that is already scheduled, already prepared, and standing at your door ready to help.

That is the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you make me throw things away?

No. We help you think through decisions, but we will never pressure you into letting go of something you want to keep.

We may ask thoughtful questions when we notice that guilt, fear, or habit is making a decision harder. The final choice is always yours.

Do I have to prepare before you arrive?

No cleaning or pre-sorting is required.

We may ask for photographs and basic information before the appointment so we can bring the right team and create a realistic plan.

Please do not buy organizing products before we come. It is much easier to determine what you genuinely need after the excess has been removed.

Do I have to work alongside the team all day?

You will need to be available for decisions, but the level of hands-on involvement is flexible.

Some clients love working beside us. Others answer questions while we handle the sorting, lifting, categorizing, and resetting.

We will find a pace that works for you.

What happens to donations?

Donation items are prepared for removal as we work.

Items that fit safely in our vehicles may be taken with us. Larger quantities, furniture, disposal, or specialized items may require a separate pickup or removal plan.

Can you organize the items I keep?

Yes.

Once the decluttering decisions have been made, we organize what remains in a way that supports how you actually live.

We use your existing storage products wherever they work well. When additional products would genuinely improve the space, we can measure and recommend them after decluttering.

Is one day enough?

A focused day can create substantial progress in a priority space.

Larger rooms, years of accumulated belongings, multiple categories, or whole-home projects may require additional days.

We will recommend an honest scope rather than promising an unrealistic transformation.

How much does a decluttering project cost?

Decluttering projects begin at roughly $1,500 plus HST.

Your final estimate will depend on the number of organizers, project length, location, and any specialized removal or disposal requirements.
